Agony is the best word to describe the pain that I found myself in last year. A spot of gardening tuned into torture as I bulged a disc in my lower spine. The disc pinched my sciatic nerve and that went into shock. That was over 9 months ago and I still get twinges in my back on a daily basis. I never knew about the Wheat Bags when I first injured my back it was only after a few months that I discovered they existed. At least I get comfort from one of them now, whenever my back gives me trouble.

Wheat Free Diet
I`m wondering if I have irritable bowel syndrome or possibly it could be coeliac disease. When I eat certain food substances my tummy feels extremely bloated. It`s not due to excess eating because I can eat a small amount of bread and my tummy feels like it is swelling. Having looked into a number of possibilities why this should be happening coeliac disease seems to be the likely answer. This disease is triggered by wheat, rye and barley and it can cause bloated stomachs, excess wind, plus constipation, as well as a host of other symptoms. The simple solution is to stop eating foods that contain gluten and to go on a Wheat Free Diet. Does this mean that one has to forgo a wide range of foods though such as bread, pasta and noodles? Not so long ago it might, but today people who are on a Wheat Free Diet can find a massive range of gluten free food. There are breads and cake mixes, biscuits and noodles, soups and all kinds of savoury snacks. It`s even possible to buy beer that is gluten free and this can be drunk as part of the Wheat Free Diet. I think I`ll have to visit my local surgery to see if my tummy troubles are down to coeliac disease or IBS. My stomach is definitely affected by certain food substances so a change in diet might be required.
